Recognizing Art Contributors at ADG

Over the course of the past year, we’ve had several colleagues gift us with truly special pieces of artwork. We wanted to take a moment to recognize their contributions to the ADG corporate art collection, and thank them for their thoughtfulness and generosity – we truly have the best colleagues in the world! Well, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so without further delay, take a look at these photos of some of our wonderful art contributors and the beautiful pieces that now call ADG their home:

Gifted by Gary Flom, CEO of the National Transportation Solutions Company, this piece was created by the founder of Notism and originator of Earth Art, Ron Burkhardt. His pieces, better known as raw and anti-tech, are ones that explode with energy on the canvas as seen with the vibrant usage of colors. With over 200 awards, Burkhardt’s abstract artworks have been displayed and recognized in many profound galleries such as Sothebys, Forbes, Art Basel Miami, and the international Biennales in Austria and Florence. Commissioned to honor ADG’s 60th anniversary, Burkhardt was keen on reflecting ADG’s homegrown philosophy of Omnipreneurship as he painted the words of our principles and values. For Gary to commission such a piece, one that took 6 months to complete, is a core symbol of the unity that ADG holds with our groups. This piece serves us as a reminder of the level of strength and trust that we have as a Group with every single one of our colleagues, solidifying the identity of Omnipreneruship. Thank you, Gary!

This piece was not only gifted by our colleague Fariha Faroon, who is part of Tanmiah Food Company’s Internal Communications department, but also created by her. The piece depicts an abstract aerial view of the map of Jeddah, showing ADG’s office location. Thank you, Fariha for sharing your talent with ADG!

These paintings were commissioned by ADG’s former Chief Omnipreneurship Officer, Sahar Taleb, who asked her very talented niece, Layal, to paint these for us based off of the award winning musical, Hamilton. The beautiful pieces are entitled “Who Tells Your Story” and “It’s Quiet Uptown”, respectively. Thank you Sahar and Layal!

While our colleague, Fathima Ismail (ADG’s Treasury and Tax Manager), was on a trip exploring South Africa, she happened upon this artwork in a gallery there. The piece is shrouded in a bit of mystery: “Untitled” was created by an artist known as Isaac. Although we only know his first name, we also know that this artist is an orphan and a farmer, born in and raised in Durban South Africa. He first fell in love with street art that he came across in Durban, and from then on began to self-teach. When his art began to draw attention, he decided to turn it into a business, displaying it at farmer’s markets. Recently, he was also asked to display some of his work at the King Shaka International Airport in Durban.

This gorgeous piece was gifted from the CEO of BARQ, Mahmoud Soliman. It was created by none other than Farouk Hosny, a famous Egyptian artist known for his abstract paintings. Born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, Farouk Hosny surely made a name for himself with his art alongside his politics. He was appointed as the Minister of Culture from 1987 to 2011, but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his artistic hobby and passion in between. Gravitating towards the arts at an early age, Hosny began experimenting with Expressionism during the late 60’s and early 70’s, later realizing that his preferred artist style was one classified as unique and minimalistic. After graduating from Egypt’s Academy of Fine Arts, Farouk went on to live in Paris where he served as Director of the Egyptian Culture Center, essentially what sparked his love and inspiration for painting landscapes and seascapes. As an abstract painter, he has exhibited his work in many profound galleries such as the Picasso Art Gallery, the National Geographic Society Museum in Washington, DC, the UNESCO Gallery in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum, and so on!

So… in conclusion: a massive thank you to Gary, Fariha, Sahar, Fathima and Mahmoud for these generous and beautiful contributions to our ADG art collection.
