GPI Advances Sustainable Power Infrastructure in Yemen

Gulf Power International (GPI) is progressing the phased delivery of a major power generation program in the Republic of Yemen, supporting the recovery and long-term resilience of the country’s electricity sector.
The initiative aligns with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to enable sustainable development in Yemen through institutional collaboration and private-sector engagement, led by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY).
The program will be implemented across three phases, beginning with an initial 100-megawatt project, followed by two expansion phases that will increase total installed capacity to up to 300 megawatts. This phased approach supports grid stability, efficient delivery, and growing demand in key urban centers.
Working closely with the Public Electricity Corporation and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, GPI is ensuring alignment with national priorities and long-term development objectives.
With more than 30 years of experience in power generation, EPC, and operations, GPI brings proven technical expertise and a strong commitment to international quality, safety, and environmental standards. The projects are expected to enhance electricity reliability, support local capacity development, and contribute to the sustainable revitalization of Yemen’s power infrastructure.
